Florida Tech Ruth Funk Esports Center – Melbourne, FL, USA

At Florida Tech, the Ruth Funk Center now serves as a fully furnished esports complex open to all students. Inside, you’ll find 60 gaming PCs—36 OMEN by HP rigs and 24 ByteSpeed machines—each paired with Spectrum Evolution desks and RESPAWN gaming chairs. A dedicated competition stage supports 6v6 matches, and there’s a console room with Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switches, PS4 and PS5 stations set up around multiple 42-inch TVs. Additional features include a student lounge, a production/broadcast room, and vending machines for convenience.
Located between Evans Library and the Student Union (Denius Center), the facility opened in September 2021 following a six-month renovation. The center is entirely free and available for all Florida Tech students—whether you’re in varsity competition, club gaming, or just dropping in for some casual play. Physical access is controlled via student ID card, and the atmosphere fosters both serious competition and social connection.
Florida Tech offers multiple paths to engage: varsity or junior varsity teams, club-level involvement, and general campus access. Students can also take on non-playing roles like shoutcasters, analysts, production staff, and more, leveraging the facility’s production room and broadcast capabilities. It’s a multi-layered gaming and event space that combines competitive infrastructure, production resources, and open-access lounge areas to create a vibrant, inclusive hub for esports on campus.
