Auckland Uni’s Esports Arena is the largest gaming arena at any tertiary institution in Aotearoa, offering a polished, inclusive space for competitive play and casual gaming alike. It empowers students—and the public—to experience high-spec setups and stream-heavy gameplay.

At the University of Auckland’s Esports Arena, gaming becomes part of campus life. Located at Building 315, 9 Symonds Street, the facility provides students with access to high-performance gaming PCs, console stations, racing simulators and high-speed internet in a space designed specifically for digital competition and community interaction. The Arena is integrated into the university’s sport and recreation framework and supports both casual play and structured tournaments.

Membership and booking rules reflect its student-centric nature — current rates are around NZ$ 4.50/hr for students for PC play, and NZ$ 5/hr for non-students, with console rates from NZ$ 8/hr for public users and NZ$ 4-5/hr for student multi-player bookings. This pricing strategy ensures the venue remains accessible for the student body while also supporting use by public and external groups. Whether you’re dropping in between lectures, practicing for league play, or just hanging out with friends, the Esports Arena offers a dynamic yet inclusive gaming environment.
