A student-centered 1,000 ft² esports arena offering PCs, consoles, tournaments, and broadcasting opportunities. Situated in the Husky Union Building (HUB), the UW HUB Esports Arena & Gaming Lounge is one of the nation’s pioneering collegiate gaming facilities, officially unveiled via ribbon-cutting in April 2019. Spanning approximately 1,000 square feet, this full-service esports center offers both casual and competitive players access to cutting-edge technology and communal gaming culture.

Inside, you’ll find 40 high-end gaming PCs, VR setups, and a casting station for streaming gameplay to platforms like Twitch, establishing a physical nexus that bridges social interaction, varsity esports, and professional content creation, elevating esports into academic, career-focused, and community-oriented spaces within the university.

Practical rates make the arena accessible. UW’s association with Twitch Student and the Reality Lab enriches the space with opportunities for broadcasting, game development, and emerging tech research.

Beyond technical offerings, the arena buzzes with student energy with weekly Smash tournaments, community pickup play, and open gaming—making it both a competitive and social living room. Some welcome the venue as a casual streaming space for students looking to game outside their dorms, while others highlight how the arena has become an example of student-driven campus collaboration.
