Localhost at Rowan is an esports and gaming facility located inside Rowan University, operated in partnership with Nerd Street. The venue provides Rowan students and the local community with access to competitive-grade gaming equipment, tournaments, and social gaming opportunities. Nestled at 109 High Street West on Rowan University’s campus, Localhost is Nerd Street Gamers’ first-ever collegiate venue—blending high-performance esports hardware with immersive academic and community experiences. Opened in April 2023, the 7,100 sq ft facility accommodates up to 300 people and features:

• 50 gaming PCs on the main floor, plus 10 PCs on a 5v5 stage and another 10 PCs in a private room for varsity practices, bootcamps, and events

• A sleek console lounge with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch stations

• Full broadcast capabilities, including production and studio space leveraged by the university’s College of Communication & Creative Arts during off-hours

The space supports Rowan’s varsity esports program, intramurals, and open-play sessions, while also hosting regional tournaments and events across titles like Valorant, Rocket League, League of Legends, and Super Smash Bros. Beyond infrastructure, Localhost serves as a powerful intersection of campus life and esports careers. A Bachelor of Arts in Esports, along with minors and certificate programs in esports industry studies, combines this tech space with serious academic ambition—spanning communications, business, and computing disciplines.
