UMD Terps Esports & Eppley Rec Esports Lab – College Park, MD, USA

University of Maryland hosts a premier Big Ten esports program, featuring advanced tech and structured varsity training spaces. Terps Esports at the University of Maryland transforms Eppley Recreation Center into a vibrant hub where premier-level competition and laid-back gaming intersect. Whether you’re vying for varsity titles or just looking to connect, this program offers something for everyone.
Their structure is layered for growth: Premier Teams represent UMD in Big Ten and NECC tournaments, Academy Teams hone emerging talent, and the Game Changers initiative creates competitive space for underrepresented gamers.
Elite players train in a sleek, seven-seat esports studio with low-latency networking—exclusive access for Premier and Academy teams. Matches get live broadcast treatment from Knight Hall’s Studio C, powered by a formal collaboration with UMD’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
Events and tryouts spark engagement all year long—open fall tryouts, Discord channels buzzing with team news, and streamed matches on Twitch keep the campus plugged in.
